The Day After Organization, a partner of the Syrian Legal Platform, supported by the Stiftung-Ebert-Friedrich Foundation, has released a report entitled “Exploitation Mechanisms: Economic and Social Changes in Syria during the Conflict.” The report seeks to understand the exploitation mechanisms practiced by the various de facto forces in the country by analyzing the institutional, economic, and social dynamics at the macro and micro levels. The macro analysis provides a picture of the general situation and the impact of the crisis at the level of Syria. At the same time, the microanalysis reflects the living conditions at the household level in different regions of Syria. Based on this comprehensive analytical framework, the report identifies policy recommendations through which the work of exploitation mechanisms can be limited, thus contributing to weakening the authoritarian foundations of the de facto forces in Syria.
